Welcome to the 2010 Season. A warm welcome to all members and visitors. Season started at the end of February with a crack at spring salmon, then a try for a seatrout. Brown trout next up from 15th March onwards. There’s a full list of outings on the relevant web page and shortly after each I’ll try to tell you what happened. Anyway, here’s to a new season that hopefully will provide one or two decent memories.
Subscriptions. At the AGM in December it was agreed that the subscription rate would remain at £25.00 for the year. Again tremendous value for the range of fishing available to us. Please pay your subs to the Secretary as soon as possible and certainly before the end of April.
Committee. Also at the AGM a new committee was elected. J Docherty (Chairman), N Hiddleston (Vice Chair), P Harding (Secretary), O Foote, S Wiseman and R Fraser As always a sterling bunch of guys but less handsome than two years ago. Also noticing a tendency for beards to get voted on!

SAA & NUAC. Operate a system whereby club members may fish the waters of the other Club. Any member who wishes to take advantage of this excellent arrangement should contact Phillip who holds two complementary tickets for SAA’s River Creed.
North Uist Estate. Kindly grants the Club access to Grimsay seapools on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This year they have been very generous in providing us with access to Carinish sea pools as well. The club will be able to fish on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with an additional “floating day” through the week. This excellent concession is for members based on North Uist only and bookings must be made through Phillip.
Float Tubes. The Club now own three Float Tubes for the use of members and only on the Clubs waters. Please contact Phillip for availability and for those less confident we will try to arrange a spot of tuition.
The Site. If you come across any news or features with a North Uist connection please feel free to pass them on for possible inclusion either in the site or as a link.
Best Wishes. The Club would like to extend it’s best wishes to Eric and Chris Stokes. They have decided to swap life on the island of North Uist for a new one on Griffith Island, Lake Huron, Canada. We hope all goes well and this new chapter in their lives is a happy one.
Finally. I’ve left in the picture of Lochmaddy local, Norman MacLeod. The photo shows Norman holding what I think is still the Club record sea trout of 8lb 3oz from Dusary in 1993.
