Skealter / Geireann / Ciste
Couldn’t have asked for a nicer day although a bit bright. Arrived late and missed my dram but it was good to be back out and casting a line. Not a lot seen but a well mended 4lb salmon kelt was carefully returned.
Nice morning again, perhaps too nice for seapools. Not much seen and only two 1 ½ lb seatrout returned. Both were in mint condition and fat.
Scarie, Feithean & Magarlan
Windy and overcast. Not a lot of surface movement as you might expect. However a cracking 3lb 4oz fish off Feithean and congratulations to Eric for his first brownie. A nice plump fish off Magarlan estimated at 1lb 6oz.
Nice spring day. Quite a few well conditioned trout taken including a surprise sea tout! Most around a pound the best 1½ lb. Best catch was a recently set longline, baited with fresh worms. Taken out and binned.
Bright with a cold edge to the wind. Quite a few fish caught fishing slow and deep. Nothing of any great size, most about 1lb, best 1lb 14oz.
Bright again but warm. Fairly quiet as members off island during the holidays. A number of brownies caught, the two best at 14oz.

Cool edge to the wind made it hard going. New loch to us visitors but we managed to run out winners on the day and build a 4lb 5oz. lead.
Bright, nice breeze but very quiet on the fishing front. Only one brown trout weighed in at 1lb 3oz.
Cracking outing to blow away the cobwebs from last night’s Club dinner. Aside from brownies around a 1lb, pollack of all sizes were caught. The best at 8lb 15oz and 6lb 4oz.

Loch cloudy after a few days wind. Following a hard day’s fishing NUAC ran out winners. We’ll carry a 4lb 11 and 4lb 8 advantage over SUAC and SAA into the second leg.
Again the water was a bit clouded. A couple of nice fish weighed in however at 2lb 6oz and 2lb 5oz.
Wild and very wet although it cleared up later. Three hardy souls ventured all the way round to the far side below Eaval and brought back nice brown trout all around ¾lb.
Very windy and bright and pretty quiet on the fishing front. A lot of walking effort produced some nice brownies all about 13oz.

Bright day again as we welcomed South Uist for the home second leg of our annual competition. We carried forward a 4lb 5oz advantage and managed to triumph on home turf to win with a further 3lb. NUAC were winners by some 7lb 7oz.
Buy a permit for this loch! Recent catches have included a brown trout of 7lb. We couldn’t quite match that but on a difficult night we caught some lovely silver fish around 1lb 8oz-2lb. The best was a super fish of 4lb 2oz.
Very bright, warm and a loch where you don’t see a lot of fish. You go there because if you get one they’re usually good. Nothing major tonight but 2 nice looking fish around 1lb 12oz. and a few other small ones.
Hugely disappointing. It looked a good night on the face of it even with a coolish easterly. I have never seen the loch so quiet. Not a fish rose all night. Even fishing deeper produced nothing. Strange altogether. I’d like to say that they came on later, but they didn’t and I followed everyone home at 10.45 cold and mystified.

Fished at Langavat in Harris. I don’t have accurate returns yet but it looks like we held on to our lead from the first leg to win by about 5lb over SAA and 8lb over SUAC. Well done boys.
Nice day for it if a bit bright and warm for the trek out. The loch was “on” however and nice bags of 6 - 7lb were taken by all who attended.
Sorry I missed this outing but as it turned out not a lot happened. None of the larger fish the loch’s known for were caught. Most were about 1lb.
Open Day-Loch an Aonghais
Barbeque and casting tuition
Successful day and good weather for it. There were quite a number of visitors who benefited from Rogers expert tuition. BBQ duties fell on the shoulders of Henry this year and glad to report there were no casualties.
Plenty of salmon and seatrout about. Unfortunately the presence of a seal in the pool made the fish uncatchable. At least one seatrout was taken from the burn on the falling tide.
Salmon & sea trout & brown trout
Again there were a lot of fish around both lochs. I wasn’t there but have been told that they just wouldn’t look at anything. Nothing caught.
My first outing since Hosta! Bit bright and windy but looked good. No larger fish were seen and only half a dozen finnock caught and returned.
Overcast, mild and a strongish westerly. Nothing to report from the small loch. Several around the pound mark and one est. at 2lb lost on Mhor.
Very quite with nothing of any size caught. It was bright with a coolish and strong NE wind. There were a number of sizeable seatrout seen.
Six members made the trip over including three from Switzerland. They fared the best as Sammy came back with a fresh 6lb salmon and Robert hooked but eventually lost a large salmon. Philip had a wee seatrout.

Salmon & sea trout & brown trout
Extremely quiet outing with only three members in attendance. Nothing much to show for their efforts other than the odd wee brownie.

I was really excited. Hadn’t been out for a while and looked forward to the chance of a seatrout or salmon. Had to endure 4 hours of flat calm-not a breath of wind.! Nothing caught but good fish showing. Hell with midges.
This was a bit more like it. Misty and calm to start with. Most had a finnock or two. Best fish however were a 11/2lb seatrout & a bonus grilse.
Kyles / Ardheisker/Horisary seapools
Windy but dry and cloudy. Good outing with several seatrout and finnock caught. Best fish off Ardheisker of 2lb 6oz and Horisary 3lb 9oz.
Didn’t stop raining until we stopped. Only 9.5 degrees and lack of wind made it hard going. Nothing weighed in but a large seatrout lost and a salmon on briefly.
Good outing to finish the season with. Most people caught something although there wasn’t much to see on the surface. The fish appeared to be all in the same range of 2½lb. The best was 2lb 15oz.
